Shared tour: Please note, that you may meet many people from other groups who booked the same tour with us and coincided with you on the same departure day and join us.

Meals included: 3 lunches, 3 dinners, 3 breakfasts. Including vegetarian and vegan options – just let us know in advance.

Accommodation: SOLO travelers joining group trips are paired in twin or in a group in a multi-share dorm in a country lodge with someone of the same sex for the duration of the activity.

Itinerary

DAY 1 IQUITOS – CAPINURÍ LODGE

Reception at the Francisco Secada Viñeta airport or your hotel in the city of Iquitos.
Transfer to the Bellavista Nanay Tourist Pier, during the tour you will be given a brief orientation
through the city of Iquitos, observing the main tourist places of this thriving and historic city of
eastern Peru that in the nineteenth century it went from a small town to the most important river
port in the Amazon.
Arrival at the Bellavista Nanay Tourist Pier, where we will make a journey of approximately 10 to 15
minutes, before getting on the boat and learn a little about the gastronomy of the jungle. Then we
start the navigation by the largest river in the world and one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the
World, the Amazon River, aboard comfortable and safe typical boats. The trip along the Amazon
River will allow you to appreciate a wonderful panorama in which the magnificence of the river
makes its way through the exuberance of the jungle, travel time 1:30 hrs approximately.
Visit to the “Yaguas Native Community” whose ancestors were discovered by Francisco de Orellana
in his first exploration of the Amazon in 1541. This visit will allow you to know their ancestral
customs, appreciate their original clothing of palm fibers and even try their aim with the “pucuna”
(blowgun) that the Yaguas used for centuries for hunting.
Arrival at Capinuri Lodge and a short explanation about the rules that govern the sustainability of
the hostel and its surroundings, will allow you to know better the ways to make your stay more
rewarding. After lunch your accommodation will be arranged according to the selected room type.

After lunch and relaxation we will head towards the Wildlife Rescue Center, (“Fundo Rony”) to observe and interact with some of the varieties of wild animals, such as the sloth bear, monkeys, macaws, toucans, boas constrictors and turtles. It will be an interesting way to learn to value and respect the typical wildlife of our Amazon.
We depart from the Rony farm and we will go out in search of the gray and pink dolphins.
Observation of the beautiful sunset over the Amazon (depending on weather conditions).
Dinner
Night excursion, your guide will indicate the time when the walking tour will start that will take you to discover, the mysterious World of nocturnal insects, cicadas, spiders, praying mantises, snakes, etc.
Overnight at the Lodge.

DAY 2FISHING PIRANHAS

Observation of the Amazon Sunrise and Birds: During the early hours of the morning, it is the right time to observe many of the species of birds that feed on the banks of the river.Breakfast at the Lodge. Then your guide will tell you the exact time to start the tour.
Then we get ready to undertake the Artisanal Fishing tour, here the guide will guide us the local techniques of fishing for piranhas or other species with the same material that the man of the jungle uses for subsistence purposes.
Walk through the primary jungle, kingdom of giant trees, we will observe the Lupuna, tarzan liana among others.
Return to the Lodge and lunch.
In the afternoon we get ready to visit the town of San Juan de Huashalado to learn about the customs of the inhabitants of the area.
Return to the Lodge for Dinner
Night canoeing, we will go out by canoe to go in search of the alligators for their capture we will learn the life of the alligators their main role within nature and then we will release it.
Return to the Lodge
Overnight in the jungle.

DAY 3EXOTIC DRINKS

Breakfast.
Navigation on the Yanayacu River.
Visit to the sugar cane trapiche where we will observe the extraction and distillation of cane juice in an artisanal way, which is then processed and converted into the exotic drinks well known as Rompe Calzón, Levántate lázaro, siete raíces. (tasting of exotic drinks We will also observe the original plants and natural preparations extracted and elaborated by the community members of the area. Remedies such as cat’s claw, copaiba oil, grade blood, original anaconda butter and other preparations for all kinds of ailments (optional purchase).
Return to the hostel for Lunch.
In the afternoon observation excursion of the largest Aquatic Lilac in the world the Amazonian Victoria Regia, visit to the riverside town of San Rafael, observation of those who aceres of the Amazonian population, culture, traditions, daily activities.
Dinner.
Overnight in the jungle

MONKEY PRESERVATION - IQUITOS CITY

Breakfast.
Tour of the Amazon River and visit to the private monkey preservation project in it will meet 5 varieties of monkeys, some in danger of extinction.
Visit to the Pedrito farm, observation of the largest freshwater fish, royal victory and alligators.
Typical self-service lunch.
Timely return to the city of Iquitos, transfer to the hotel or airport.

Changes & Cancellations Policy

Cancellation & Changes to this tour:

NO SHOWS & CANCELLATIONS: If you cancel 1 day prior to the tour before 5:00pm (Peru time), a 50% administration fee will apply. After this time, there’s a 100% no-show & cancelation fee.

CHANGES: Any changes to the tour date MUST be done before 5:00pm (Peru time) 1 day prior to the tour.
