WAYKI BUS FAQ´S

Hola amiga/amiga, here you will find some questions solved by us that may help you prepare for your trip to Peru. We hope it is useful for you, but if you have any more, please let us know.

How do I book?

It’s very simple. All you need to do is to choose your bus ticket (Hop On Hop Off / Shuttle). According to your travel time, book 24hrs before the bus leaves, get onboard the bus, be picked up at your accommodation or meeting point agreed upon at the time of your booking, meet your new travel buddies, enjoy the scenic ride and have fun.

How many people travel with wayki bus?

We maintain an average amount in our groups so that you have the freedom to move and get involved with your surroundings, as well as make sure that the attention of our guides and leaders is more personalized. This intimate size ensures that your group does not monopolize your experience. The groups can have up to 28 travelers per trip.

I want to travel alone, is that OK?

Many people come with friends or partners on our bus tours, and others are traveling on their own because their friends have different interests or budgets. Although you can start YOUR journey alone, at the end of your trip, you will have many new friends for a lifetime!

Wayki bus offers the option for you and your friends to travel in a private group if you want. However, our bus trips are for everyone, and we encourage meeting and enjoying your journey with your new life-long friends from all over the world!

Is there any age restriction on my trip?

To travel independently, you must be at least 18 years of age. Our trips are customized for the type of ages mentioned (18 – 40+) with young at heart. If you are a private group of friends, colleagues, or family members of different required ages, please respect the age range.

Who are Wayki Bus traveler’s?

The bus trips and tours with Wayki Bus are for travelers with adventurous spirits and lovers of adrenaline. Our travelers have the desire to live new experiences and get out of the ordinary/common. Whether you travel alone, with a group of friends, or are aged 18 to whatever year old with young at heart, we guarantee that there is an adventure for you!

What is the most appropriate type of luggage to carry?

We recommend that you carry a backpack of size according to your height and a small travel bag for your daily excursions. This backpack needs to have enough space to put all you will use for your entire trip. There will be facilities to store and accommodate your bags on the buses (under the seats). Wheeled suitcases can be very challenging (and irritating) on dirt or cobblestone roads. Consider that you will carry your luggage inside and outside the buses, planes, trains, and up / downstairs of hotels.

Will I need visa?

Peru is a country of basically free access. Many visitors do not need a visa to enter Peru however, it depends on your nationality. Check the following link and see if you need a visa o not.

Do I need a vaccine?

There are no mandatory vaccines to enter Peru. If you want to visit an Amazonian region of the country, the Ministry of Health recommends getting vaccinated against yellow fever. We suggest you look into more information about vaccines before arriving. We are not doctors and unfortunately, we cannot advise on this subject. Consult your local doctor, or medical center before traveling and take your itinerary to your appointment.

Do I need travel insurance?

Travel insurance is mandatory for all travelers from Peru’s cube list. You’re required to purchase full travel insurance before traveling with us. Make sure you know exactly what it covers, and remember that there are many adventure activities during the tour that may not be covered by basic insurance. Make sure your travel insurance covers general medical expenses, hospitalizations, and medical evacuations. You must present proof of your travel insurance on the first day of your trip, you won’t be able to join the trip without it!

Are the bus trip physically demanding?

Our bus trips doesnt require physical activity.

Will the altitude affect me during my bus trip?

NOT ONLY in your bus trips is it possible to suffer from altitude sickness (also called Soroche), but anytime you are at an altitude greater than 3000 masl, you can be affected. Altitude sickness is due to a lack of oxygen, if you were to experience symptoms of altitude sickness like headaches, nausea, dizziness, and feeling of fatigue. We recommend you walk slowly. Take your time and breathe deeply, eat light meals, and avoid alcoholic drinks, and cigarettes. Try not to work harder to acclimatize to the altitude. No one understands why some people are affected and others are not, age, level of fitness, and strength are not an indication of how well you will do.

Can I join a tour late or leave early?

It is impossible to join a tour after it has begun. The only time an exception can be made is if there’s been a flight delay. The maximum time of tolerance is one day after the bus has left. If it happens, contact us at our phone numbers or emails as soon as possible, and one of our staff members will gladly assist you. Consider you will be responsible for all costs associated with joining the bus late.

It is possible to leave the tour early if you are sick, or suffer an injury. If this happens, we will try to help you. Our local offices will help you find the right medical care and ensure that someone in the home is aware of the situation. Please, keep in mind that if you leave (due to illness or injury), you are responsible for the additional expenses, and for your arrangements from the moment you decide to leave the tour. The bus ticket is non-refundable.

Do your tours include international air tickets?

Unfortunately, no, it’s not possible to include international airfares in our prices due to the fact our travelers are coming from all over the world causing the flight prices to vary. However, we would love to help you with your booking of air tickets. Please request your quote when making your reservation.

Are transfers to the airport included?

Unfortunately we dont include any aiport transfers.

What type of land transport does Wayki Bus use?

However, you must know that if you choose to exclude yourself and not participate in the activities that are included (bus ticket), we will not be able to make any refunds. Please let to know your Wayki guide on which day you want to do the specific tour /activity included on your itinerary in advance.

Will we have any free time for ourselves?

The wonderful thing about traveling is connecting with the world. Wayki Bus encourages our travelers to explore destinations at their own pace and way. You will have many opportunities to explore on your own and enjoy destiny for yourself. Your Wayki guide will also give you options on what you can do throughout your journey with us! Maybe some of you will choose to perform some activities alone, while others may opt for something completely different. Some of you may even decide to rest and read a book. We understand how crazy traveling can be and spending many hours surrounded by others. Therefore we make sure there is always time for you!
