They met in the middle of the dunes, but shortly after the warrior was killed in the war, and the princess was so consumed by her sadness she cried enough tears to create the lagoon and turned into a mermaid. Many people say if you visit the lagoon at night you can hear her wailing, and even see her tail splashing in the distance.
