On this 5-day tour that is one of the most impressive treks in Cusco. Shared trek: Please note, that you may meet many people from other groups who booked the same trek activity with us and coincided with you on the same departure day and join us.
Meals included: 4 lunches, 4 dinners, 4 breakfasts. Including vegetarian and vegan options – just let us know in advance.
Accommodation: SOLO travelers joining group trips are paired in twin or in a group in a multi-share dorm in a country lodge with someone of the same sex for the duration of the activity.

Our pick up will start at 04:30 am and will end at 04.50 am; between that time, we will be arriving at any time at your hotel in Cusco, please be always ready to leave. Once we have all our travelers on board the bus with us, we will continue to Mollepata, which is located at 2900 masl / 9514ft. There we will have breakfast and then we will head towards Marcocasa, a town from which we will start our hike until we reach Soraypampa, where we will stop for lunch.
After lunch we will continue to the beautiful Humantay Lagoon, there we will enjoy incredible views of the lagoon with the snow in the background, creating a landscape that is considered one of the most beautiful of the Andes. Then, we will get back to the Soraypampa camp, where we will have dinner and rest until the next morning.
Today we will get up early and after breakfast, we will begin the ascend to the Salkantay pass, which is located at 4750 masl / 15583ft, the highest point of the entire route, from where we can observe the beautiful valleys and the imposing snowy peaks.
Then we will begin our descend to the town of Huayracmachay; where we will have time to eat and regain strength to continue to our campsite in Colpapampa, where we will have dinner and spend the night.
After breakfast early we will begin the descend hike, changing from a high Andean landscape to what is known as jungle eyebrow, to a more temperate climate. During the tour, we will see the beautiful andean landscapes, in addition the tropical flora, and different bird species.
We will arrive in Sahuayaco where we will stop to eat, rest for a while, and then a private bus will take us to Santa Teresa, where we will spend the night.
Optional: You can go to the thermal baths of Cocalmayo (15 SOLES ENTRANCE AND 15 SOLES BUS TICKET EACH WAY), and do the Zip Line (EXTRA 30 USD)
At night, we will have dinner in group and enjoy the time with your new travel buddies with a good “pisco sour”. If it is your thing.
After breakfast, we will begin the 3 hour hike to the hydroelectric plant. Here we will have lunch and after a short rest, we will continue with a new trip on foot (3hrs) or by train ($ 35.00, 30 minutes) to Aguas Calientes.
Upon our arrival in Aguas Calientes, we will go straight to our accommodation and enter to rest, later on go to dinner at night and prepare the plan for the next day., visit one of the Wonders of the World “Machu Picchu”.
Today we will wake up very early (5 am) to begin the fifth and last day of the Salkantay trek with a hike of approximately 1.5 hours to Machu Picchu or take a bus (20 mins – 12 USD). We will enjoy a 2 hour guided tour of the citadel, then we will have free time to explore it on our own and take it easy to see the citadel.
At the end of the visit, we will return to Aguas Calientes (if you want you can return by bus to avoid the walk, buying the ticket there for 12 USD per way), we will have time to have lunch; and then, take the train that will take us to Ollantaytambo, where there will be waiting our bus that will take us to Cusco.

*NO SHOWS & CANCELLATIONS: If you cancel 1 day prior to the tour before 5:00pm (Peru time), a 10% administration fee will apply. After this time, there’s a 100% no-show & cancelation fee.
*CHANGES: Any changes to the tour date MUST be done before 5:00pm (Peru time) 1 day prior to the tour.
